The summary prospectus, along with related amendments to Form N-1A to require certain standardized information at the front of the prospectus, is designed to improve mutual fund disclosure by providing investors with key information in plain English in a clear and concise format. The new rules also allow a fund to satisfy its prospectus delivery obligations by delivering to investors the summary prospectus, with the more detailed information contained in the full prospectus made available via the Internet. Members of Dechert’s Financial Services team will discuss the summary prospectus and amendments to for N-1A, the liability issues involved, and the practical implications for fund manager, compliance professionals, board members and other senior decison makers.
