On 20 July 2012, the German Ministry of Finance published the draft of a bill to implement the so-called AIFM Directive on Alternative Investment Fund Managers into German law. As a consequence of the implementation of the AIFMD, the current German Investment Act will be repealed. The creation of a “German Investment Code” will comprise the future legal framework for all investment funds.
