Congress passed the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act on July 21, 2010. Kathleen Massey, Nicolle Jacoby and Jason Billy will provide an overview of the “whistleblower” provisions of the Act and the related SEC Rules that went into effect on August 12, 2011, including recent legal developments. The program will examine who may qualify as a whistleblower and the incentive structure and protections available to qualified whistleblowers. The program will also address practical implications of the whistleblower provisions on clients’ internal reporting and compliance programs.
