Abi Gillett advises employers and employees on the full range of day-to-day employment issues, including disciplinary matters, changing terms of employment, and redundancy procedures. Ms. Gillett has a keen interest in contentious matters and has experience in the employment tribunal and High Court. She also advises on the employment aspects of both UK and cross-border corporate transactions, regularly co-ordinating advice from our overseas offices.
Ms. Gillett regularly speaks at training seminars and writes employment law updates on a diverse range of topics. She qualified as a solicitor in 2009 and joined Dechert in 2010.
Significant Representations
Ms. Gillett's significant representations include:
- Successfully defending a disability discrimination and unfair dismissal claim in the employment tribunal for a major national client.
- Successfully obtaining injunctive relief and a delivery-up order in the High Court where a former employee had misappropriated confidential information.
- Advising a software company on a TUPE transfer involving 19 different jurisdictions.
