Andrew Bloom’s practice focuses on the tax aspects of financial products, structured finance and investment vehicles. Mr. Bloom regularly advises financial institutions and other clients on a wide range of domestic and cross-border transactions, including corporate finance and securities, debt repackagings, stock and asset purchases, private equity investments, and IRS private letter rulings. He has particular expertise in FATCA, having been one of the principal outside advisors to a number of large financial institutions. In addition to being actively involved in a number of trade and bar organizations in commenting on FATCA, he has given numerous presentations on FATCA.
Mr. Bloom also regularly advises charities, on a pro bono basis, regarding the tax requirements for proper formation and other operational issues.
Mr. Bloom was previously an associate at an international law firm.
