Ashley J. Burden focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation involving the financial services industry.
Mr. Burden has extensive experience representing officers and directors of public companies in class actions brought under the federal securities laws, including Section 10(b) and Section 11 claims against defendants in a wide variety of industries, including specialty chemicals, insurance, shipping, pharmaceuticals, and energy. Mr. Burden also represents officers and directors in shareholder direct and derivative suits arising from mergers or other contested transactions.
In addition to his securities litigation practice, Mr. Burden advises and represents traders and investment advisors in connection with enforcement actions and inquiries brought by the CME and other designated contract markets. Mr. Burden has significant expertise in wash trades, cross trades, supervisory obligations, trader identification, and electronic trading.
Prior to joining Dechert, Mr. Burden was a litigation associate in the Chicago offices of two international law firms.
