Experience and Background
Charles Wynn-Evans, head of the employment practice in London, focuses on all contentious and non-contentious employment-related matters. His practice includes handling issues relating to redundancy, unfair dismissal, wrongful dismissal, unlawful discrimination, industrial action, boardroom disputes, restrictive covenants, agreed terminations, tax issues and all kinds of employment-related litigation as well as the employment aspects of corporate transactions. He trained with the firm, was admitted as a solicitor in 1992 and has been a partner at Dechert since 1997.

Mr. Wynn-Evans is acknowledged as a leader in his field by the independent UK legal directories, Legal 500 and Chambers. He is described in Chambers UK 2010 as "drawing consistent plaudits for his in-depth understanding of employment law and his 'keen sense of commercial realities'". According to Legal 500 UK, 2009, "Practice head Charles Wynn-Evans delivers 'a quality service, efficiency and practical advice', and commands significant respect among peers". In Chambers UK, 2009 he is described as "'a charming problem solver who always comes up with the goods.' He is 'responsive, adaptable and has great judgement', and peers describe him as 'the TUPE king'."

Mr. Wynn-Evans writes regularly on employment law issues for journals such as People Management, Personnel Today, Industrial Law Journal and Employment Law Journal. He has contributed to a number of books on the subject and is the author of Blackstone's Guide to the New Transfer of Undertakings Legislation (Oxford University Press, 2006).

Mr. Wynn-Evans is a CEDR accredited mediator and a member of the Employment Law Committee of the Law Society of England and Wales and of the City of London Law Society. He is a fee-paid (part-time) employment judge assigned to the Birmingham region. Mr. Wynn-Evans is a governor of Heber Primary School in south London.

Education
Mr. Wynn-Evans graduated from Bristol University with a degree in Law in 1988. He obtained the postgraduate Bachelor of Civil Law from Merton College, Oxford in 1990.
