Experience and Background
Robert C. Heim is a nationally known trial lawyer who specializes in antitrust, securities, intellectual property, and other complex commercial litigation. In 2007, Mr. Heim assumed chairmanship of the Board of Pennsylvanians for Modern Courts. He is a past Chancellor of the Philadelphia Bar Association and past President of the National Conference of Bar Presidents.

Since 2003, Mr. Heim has been consistently recognized as a leading lawyer for general commercial litigation in Chambers USA, a referral guide to leading lawyers in the United States based on the opinions of their peers and clients. He has also been recognized as one of the top 10 trial lawyers in Pennsylvania and for his skill in "bet the company" litigation in The Best Lawyers in America.

Professional Activities
Mr. Heim is an elected Fellow of both the American College of Trial Lawyers and the International Academy of Trial Lawyers. He has represented numerous major corporations in trial and appellate matters in both state and federal courts throughout the country. He has been Chair of the Federal Courts Committee and an invited speaker at the Fifth Circuit and Third Circuit Judicial Conferences. Mr. Heim was appointed by the late U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice William H. Rehnquist to the Judicial Conference Advisory Committee on Civil Rules and is currently serving a second term. He is currently Vice Chair of the Advisory Committee to the Third Circuit Court of Appeals and has been selected to chair that committee in 2009. He is also currently Chair of the Pennsylvania Continuing Legal Education Board. In addition, he has lectured on both trial and appellate advocacy and has taught appellate advocacy at the University of Pennsylvania Law School.

Mr. Heim is an active member of the Philadelphia community, having served as a member of the Board of Directors of the non-profit Center City District and as a Board Member of the MBF Center, a non-profit provider of computer training for physically impaired children. He has also served on the Boards of Philadelphia High School Academies and the Philadelphia YMCA and is currently the Chairman of the Free Library Board of Trustees. Mr. Heim was appointed by former Philadelphia Mayor Edward G. Rendell as Vice Chair of the Charter Reform Commission and was appointed by Mayor John F. Street as a Trustee of the Free Library of Philadelphia. He was the recipient of the Learned Hand Award (2002) for distinguished service to the profession and the community.

Mr. Heim served on active duty with the United States Navy from 1964 until 1969 and is a Captain (inactive) in the United States Naval Reserve.
