Experience and Background
Steven R. Daniels, a registered patent attorney, represents clients in the United States and Asia in patent, trade secret, trademark, and commercial litigation. He has a strong technical background and experience in a number of industries, including wireless cellular technology, computer software and hardware, gaming devices, pharmaceuticals, and medical devices.

He was a key member of the patent litigation team that defended Gateway, Inc. against Lucent Technologies in the Southern District of California. The Dechert team achieved a number of significant pre-trial rulings in this high-profile dispute, and in 2007, The National Law Journal singled out the case when the publication named Dechert to its annual "Defense Hot List," which recognizes just 10 firms nationally for "exemplary, cutting-edge work in civil defense."

Prior to joining Dechert, Mr. Daniels practiced with several large, international law firms and most recently served as a visiting professor of law at Chungnam National University in Korea, where he taught graduate courses in intellectual property and antitrust law. While in Korea, Mr. Daniels advised the Korean government regarding intellectual property issues likely to arise during the negotiation of the United States-Korea Free Trade Agreement and provided seminars on American intellectual property law to judges and patent examiners of the Korean Intellectual Property Office and the Korean Innovators Forum.

Mr. Daniels worked as a technical writer before starting his legal career.
