Dechert LLP announced today that Howard Kleinman has joined the firm in the New York office as a partner in the corporate and securities group. Kleinman, who focuses his practice on capital markets and financial transactions, was most recently a partner at White & Case LLP.

Kleinman represents domestic and foreign issuers, underwriters, and others in equity and debt offerings. His experience includes U.S. registered public offerings and offerings under Rule 144A private placements, offerings outside of the United States under Regulation S, exchange offers, debt tenders, and consent solicitations. Kleinman, who advises clients on mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures, also counsels both U.S. and non-U.S. issuers on ongoing disclosure obligations under the U.S. federal securities law and corporate governance matters.

Kleinman has significant experience in Latin America and has been recognized for his work in the region by Chambers Global Guide to the World's Leading Lawyers. He was part of a team that represented the Mexican Government in its unique issuance of catastrophe bonds - work that was recognized at the Latin Lawyer 2006 Awards.

A graduate of Columbia University (B.A., 1984), London School of Economics and Political Science (M.A., 1986) and New York University School of Law (J.D., 1988), Kleinman is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey.
