Mr. Olivier Dumas advises on fund formation in the private equity and alternative investment funds sectors. He has extensive experience with all legal and tax aspects of investment fund formation and financial regulatory matters as well as in the creation of management companies or investment advisers.
Mr. Dumas is a member of the French Private Equity Association (AFIC), the European Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (EVCA) and the International Bar Association’s (IBA) investment fund group. He was elected as a member of AFIC’s Code of Ethics Committee from 2002 to 2006 and is a member of several AFIC committees, including the tax and legal group and the FCPI-FIP group. He is a regular lecturer for trainings and conferences on fund formation and financial regulations issues.
Mr. Dumas is listed as a leading lawyer in his field in The Legal 500 EMEA, Practical Law Company and in The International Who's Who of Business Lawyers - Private Funds 2014.
Mr. Dumas began his career with an independent French business law firm before joining Daniel Schmidt. He created SDGM as partner in 2001. He joined an international law firm in 2007 as partner and co-head of the Paris private equity fund formation group.
