William Cejudo

Will Cejudo focuses his practice on tax matters relating to structured finance transactions, including distressed asset funds, mortgage securitizations and asset-backed securitizations. He has extensive experience advising on the taxation of investment vehicles, including REMICs, REITs and offshore funds. His clients include issuers, underwriters and investors. 

Mr. Cejudo is ranked as a leading tax lawyer for the Nationwide capital markets: securitization category in the 2021 edition of Chambers USA. He is also a recommended lawyer for International tax and US: non-contentious tax in The Legal 500 US

Prior to joining Dechert, Mr. Cejudo was a partner at Clifford Chance US LLP. Previously, he worked in the Financial Institutions and Products Division of the IRS Office of Chief Counsel, where he worked on an array of financial products, as well as tax-exempt and taxable financing matters.

  • Advised Fannie Mae on its Connecticut Avenue Securities Credit Risk Transfer Program to address tax constraints for REITs and foreign persons.
