Christine A. Renner’s practice focuses on assisting asset managers and sponsors in the formation of Luxembourg-domiciled private funds as well as assisting with ongoing compliance and distribution questions. Ms. Renner provides specialist advice in relation to the structuring, set-up and compliance of regulated and unregulated private funds, particularly private equity, private credit, venture capital and real assets closed-ended funds.

In addition to advising clients on the establishment of private funds, Ms. Renner provides advice on AIFMD and MiFID-related issues for managers and sponsors.

Ms. Renner also provides advice to institutional investors in relation to investments in private funds.

In 2021 Ms. Renner was identified in Law.com International's "Rising Stars in Private Equity" list, and she has also been recognized as a key lawyer in Dechert’s investment funds practice in Luxembourg by The Legal 500 EMEA since 2020.   • Advising FORTY51 Ventures, a Biotech venture capital firm, on the closing of its first fund, FORTY51 Ventures Fund I SCSp, FIAR, which raised US$43 million and is domiciled in Luxembourg.
  • Advising MTIP, a Swiss healthtech focused private equity firm, on the establishment of MTIP Fund II, SCSp at US$250 million in capital commitments.
  • Advising on the establishment and regulatory authorization of various specialised investment funds (fonds d'investissement spécialisés - SIF) and undertakings for collective investment in transferable securities (organismes de placement collectif en valeurs mobilières - UCITS).     
  • Advising on the establishment of various reserved alternative investment funds (RAIF) and alternative investment funds.   
  • Advising management companies, alternative investment fund managers and European venture capital managers on Luxembourg and EU regulatory issues in relation to their operation and the establishment, management and marketing of their funds.
  • Advising on regulatory change projects for investment funds, management companies, alternative investment fund managers and investment firms.       
  • Advising on the conversion and its regulatory authorizations of a master-feeder-structure from a common fund and a corporate structure into investment companies under the form of partnerships for a German pension scheme.    
  • Regularly preparing due diligence reports on the investments for a large private equity fund of funds qualifying as a SIF.    
  • Advising on the establishment of the Luxembourg section of a parallel fund structure investing in private equity and debt.  
  • Advising on the establishment of a RAIF investing in German real estate and leading negotiations with the initial investors.        
  • Advising on the merger and its regulatory authorizations of two Luxembourg UCITS.
  • Advising on the establishment and regulatory authorization of an EuVECA manager with a medical technology strategy.
  • Advising on the amendment to the policies required by MiFID II of an investment firm and an alternative investment fund managers with an authorization extension.
