Dechert's European Union practice is based in our Brussels office and encompasses a variety of counseling, regulatory, and litigation services, with a strong focus on competition law matters.

We advise clients on the status and application of EU regulations and represent them before the European institutions.

Counseling Services
We help clients structure their business ventures in conformity with EU rules and regulations, with particular emphasis on minimizing EU antitrust risks. Dechert lawyers regularly represent clients in negotiating and obtaining clearance in cross-border mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, distribution, intellectual property, and other types of business arrangements.

Regulatory Advice
Our EU regulatory services are tailored to meet each client's needs. We monitor the regulatory environment for changes that could affect our clients' interests and provide well-targeted lobbying in matters involving the European institutions and the various national regulatory authorities of the member states.

Our hands-on experience and close contacts with the various European institutions as well as our strong multilingual skills enable us to effectively represent our clients' interests in the European Union.

We have significant experience in a variety of industries, particularly in the telecommunication, financial services, and motor distribution sectors.

Litigation
Dechert's EU lawyers represent clients in proceedings before the European Commission, the European Courts, and national courts, as well as in arbitration proceedings. We have extensive experience with European competition law matters involving price-fixing, discriminatory and predatory pricing, abuses of dominant position, international cartel allegations, and leniency applications.

International Scope
Our Brussels-based EU practice also draws on the knowledge and experience of Dechert lawyers in our other European offices, enabling us to offer seamless advice wherever our clients do business.
