Dr. Olaf Fasshauer

Dr. Olaf Fasshauer is a member of Dechert’s global finance and real estate practice groups with over 20 years of experience representing clients, many of whom are key players in the real estate industry, in complex domestic as well as cross-border commercial real estate and finance matters, including portfolio and single high value property transactions, loan originations, sale-and-leasebacks, heritable building rights and property developments.

Across sectors, Dr. Fasshauer also advises clients on data protection legislation, including GDPR. As a member of Dechert's privacy & cybersecurity practice, also serving as the firm’s data protection officer, he handles compliance projects, cross-border data flow issues, data breach notifications, data subject requests and defends clients against actions of competitors and regulators.
