Dechert Announces Management Team for London Office

Dechert LLP announced today that it has formed a management team for the firm’s London office in response to recent and anticipated growth in the various practice areas operating out of our London office. Beginning July 1, 2016 the London office will be led by a committee with partner Camille Abousleiman serving as chair. Also on the management team will be current office managing partner Jason Butwick and partners Gus Black and Miriam Gonzalez.

“London is a key business hub for the world and of great importance to Dechert’s work serving multinational clients with cross-border concerns,” said Dechert chairman Andrew Levander.

“The team is comprised of high-profile, very accomplished attorneys,” Levander continued. “They will be a key component in our expansion in London and extremely helpful in our targeted growth areas including capital markets, leveraged finance, litigation, trade regulation and international arbitration.”

Abousleiman, a finalist for the Financial Times Legal Innovator of the Year 2015, leads the firm’s international capital markets and emerging markets practices. Black is a partner in the firm’s financial services group and Gonzalez is co-chair of the firm’s international trade and government regulation practice. Butwick is a partner in our employment law practice and also leads the London office's partnership law practice.

We are also very fortunate to have a very strong administrator in the London office in George Pantelides, whose role will also expand with this structure change.”

Pantelides serves as the firm’s EMEA Director of Administration and has more than two decades of experience working for international law firms.

With nearly 150 fee-earners, including 42 partners, the London office is the third largest for Dechert after New York and Philadelphia. The office features all of the firm’s major practice groups with strong offerings in corporate, financial services, business reorganization and restructuring, finance, litigation and intellectual property.
