Euromoney Legal Media Group Names Miriam Gonzalez and Marianne Schaffner among Top Women Lawyers

Dechert LLP partners Miriam Gonzalez and Marianne Schaffner have been named as the best in their respective practice areas at this year’s Europe Women in Business Law Awards. The awards, sponsored by Euromoney Legal Media Group, reward the best private practice and in-house women lawyers in a wide range of practice areas.

Gonzalez, a white collar and securities litigation partner and co-chair of the firm’s international trade and government regulation practice, was recognized as the “Best in International Trade.” Schaffner, an intellectual property partner, was recognized as the “Best in Life Sciences” for the second consecutive year.

Paris-based antitrust/competition partner Mélanie Thill-Tayara was also named as a finalist in the competition & antitrust category.

Gonzalez, based in Dechert’s London office, advises clients on Brexit, trade policy, trade agreements, sanctions and embargoes, export controls, antidumping, foreign investment proceedings and EU internal market regulations and infringement proceedings.

Paris-based Schaffner is a nationally recognized trial lawyer in national pan-European and international patent, trademark and trade secrets disputes in pharmaceutical, chemistry, agri-business and electronics and telecommunications sectors. She advises clients on intellectual property agreements, mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts and capital market transactions.

Winners were presented with their awards at a ceremony at London’s Jumeirah Carlton Tower Hotel on June 15.
