Martin Black Named Outstanding IP Litigator in Pennsylvania by Managing IP

March 18, 2016

Martin Black, head of Dechert LLP’s intellectual property litigation team, has been named “Outstanding IP Litigator” in Pennsylvania by Managing Intellectual Property magazine in its North America Awards for the second successive year. Winners of the North America awards represent outstanding firms and individuals in US and Canadian intellectual property. Mr. Black was also named Pennsylvania IP Litigator of the Year by Managing IP in 2015.

Mr. Black recently prevailed in a five-week trial for Endo Pharmaceuticals against seven generic companies, winning injunctions against all seven companies and protecting over US$2 billion in sales.

Additionally, Dechert was named as a finalist in the “United Kingdom Trade Mark Contentious” category in Managing IP’s Global Awards 2016, which recognized the outstanding firms of the past year in Asia-Pacific, Europe and Latin America. In April 2015, a London-based Dechert team led by intellectual property partner Paul Kavanagh secured a final Court of Appeal dismissal in a high-profile trademark infringement case against global fashion retailer ASOS after a Swiss company had sought to prevent the fashion brand from using its most valuable asset — its website.
