The Legal Intelligencer Names Dechert as Pennsylvania’s 2017 IP Department of the Year

May 04, 2017

Dechert LLP has been named Pennsylvania’s Intellectual Property Department of the Year by The Legal Intelligencer in its 2017 Litigation Departments of the Year contest. Submissions showcased the biggest victories and most important cases handled by Pennsylvania lawyers. The firm also won the award for IP Litigation Department of the Year in 2016 and 2014.

“We are honored by The Legal Intelligencer’s continued recognition,” said Henry N. Nassau, Dechert’s Chief Executive Officer. “This award is a testament to the solid track record of success achieved by Dechert’s IP litigators in representing industry-leading companies in high-stakes, complex disputes.”

Dechert’s Pennsylvania IP litigators lead a national and international IP litigation practice, which sets it apart from its peers. The group is distinguished by its trial experience and has tried numerous cases in which hundreds of millions or billions of dollars are at stake. The group recently argued and prevailed in a case before the U.S. Supreme Court on behalf of SCA Hygiene Products, where in a 7-1 decision the Supreme Court overturned 100 years of precedent, concluding that laches cannot bar the award of legal damages in patent cases.

Winners will be honored at an awards ceremony on June 22 at the Crystal Tea Room in Philadelphia.
