The Dechert Family Network encourages supportive relationships among firm parents, caregivers and other family members by providing a forum to share information and resources to support being a working parent or caregiver. The affinity group also frequently provides feedback to firm management and advocates for parents and caregivers on issues and policies within the firm.
The Dechert Family Network is open to all Dechert lawyers and employees and hosts a variety of programs to support families. Most recently, we welcomed pediatrician Jacqueline Dougé to learn about helping our children process violence, trauma and race in a world of non-stop news. We also welcomed parenting coach Susan Nason to learn about coping with the convergence of work, school and home, and tips for dealing with quarantine.
At the height of the coronavirus pandemic, the firm launched Dechert Story Time – nicknamed ‘The Young and the Restless.’ The weekly series brings our children together online to hear favorite children’s books read aloud live by Dechert colleagues, including CEO Henry Nassau, and gives our parents a much-needed break. In addition, the Dechert Family Network inspired the creation of Dechert Community Discussion Boards. These discussion boards provide a safe place to talk, ask questions, and share advice, best practices, local resources and personal stories in a positive, constructive manner.
