One of the hallmarks of Dechert’s culture is our commitment to professional development. Our training and support empower our people to deliver exceptional client service.

Our initiatives support our people at all levels, from looking after their well-being to fostering a sense of community:

  • We launched our new Mentoring@Dechert program, which pairs associates with partner mentors who provide more meaningful connection to the firm, ensure equitable mentoring and work opportunities and increase investment in associate development.
  • Through the Thrive@Dechert framework, we invest in extensive resources to support our people’s physical and emotional health, financial security, social connectedness, direction and character strengths. Our well-being toolkit and well-being week are also dedicated to finding ways to thrive.
  • The firm continues on its culture journey, building community within the workplace through the events and activities of our culture weeks, as well as our extensive programs and resources for our people.
  • In the 2022 Great Place to Work survey, 95 percent of our U.S. respondents said Dechert is a great place to work, and 94 percent said they were offered training and development to further themselves professionally.

Our commitment to continual training and growth doesn’t stop once our people become partners:

  • Our year-long New Partner Leadership program supports newly promoted and lateral partners, with a focus on leading their teams and fostering client relationships.
  • For more experienced partners, with the Moller Institute, University of Cambridge, we designed a training curriculum focused on creating a shared vision and building trust, as well as advanced business development and client management strategies.
  • For partners in leadership roles, we launched a multi-day program created with Harvard Law School Executive Education on strategic planning and leadership, driving organizational alignment and cultural change and motivating teams.
