Andrew Bloom’s practice focuses on the tax aspects of financial products, structured finance and investment funds. Mr. Bloom advises funds, managers, financial institutions and other clients on a wide range of domestic and cross-border transactions, including corporate finance and securities, private equity investments, and international tax planning. Mr. Bloom has extensive experience advising on the foreign account tax compliance provisions of the HIRE Act (FATCA), and has been a frequent speaker in that area. He has also been extremely active in the CLO and MBS market, taking on a lead role in the firm’s cutting edge risk retention response efforts.
Mr. Bloom has been recognized as a New York Metro “Rising Star” for tax by SuperLawyers in its 2014, 2015 and 2016 editions. He also regularly advises charities, on a pro bono basis, regarding various formational, international, and operational issues.
