International Visiting Advisors

Hands-on Experience with Top-Tier U.S. Lawyers

Every year Dechert is proud to welcome lawyers from around the world who seek experience in the United States legal system, while learning from, and forging relationships with, some of today's top practicing lawyers.

International Visiting Advisors work closely with the firm’s International Arbitration group. In addition, candidates have the opportunity to gain comprehensive knowledge of other practice areas and are encouraged to collaborate with as many Dechert lawyers as possible.

Participants in the International Visiting Advisor Program are assigned a mentor, have full access to the firm’s training programs and participate in the activities carried out by the International Arbitration group, including meetings, lunches and retreats.

Dechert is recognized by Chambers and Global Arbitration Review 30 for its premier international arbitration practice, with partners who are acknowledged leaders in the field. Our global team represents clients in their most important, sensitive international commercial and investment treaty arbitrations. Dechert’s multilingual team has a track record of providing seamless service across multiple offices and under all major institutional rules.

We have handled disputes across sectors such as energy, construction, financial services, life sciences, real estate, technology and telecommunications.

Our deep industry knowledge helps us defend our clients’ interests, while also enabling us to propose creative business solutions to seemingly intractable legal disputes.

We have handled some of the leading arbitrations brought to date, and we have a formidable track record in counseling corporations and states under all major arbitration rules and across a vast range of governing laws and venues.
