Dechert special counsel Linda Dwoskin authored a checklist for Bloomberg Law describing basic protocols that should be followed in any discrimination/harassment investigation to ensure that the investigation will be prompt, thorough, and effective. It also discusses that what constitutes an effective investigation varies based on the seriousness and scope of the complaint and the alleged wrongdoer's level of responsibility.
