• Business Advice and Litigation
    • Representing Microsoft as a third-party in the Department of Justice’s antitrust claims against Google, currently pending in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.
    • Represented J.P. Morgan Chase in several consumer lawsuits alleging violations of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) in multiple jurisdictions.  Secured six-figure attorneys' fee and sanctions award against plaintiff's counsel in the Southern District of New York.
    • Advised and defended leading technology platform company in matters involving the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA).
    • Secured summary judgment for a major technology company against proposed consumer class alleging violations of more than 30 state consumer statutes. 
    • Represented a multinational automobile manufacturer in multiple product defect putative class actions affecting the company's best-selling SUVs and trucks and secured dismissal of significant class claims across multiple state consumer protection statutes.
    • Represented a fortune 500 pharmaceutical manufacturer in defending against product liability claims pending in multiple state courts and in a coordinated multi-district litigation proceeding in the Eastern District of Louisiana, involving alleged personal injuries concerning a chemotherapy medication.
    • Secured dismissal in class action lawsuits against a major technology company alleging violations of the New Jersey Truth-in-Consumer Contract, Warranty, and Notice Act (TCCWNA).
    • Secured dismissal of consumer protection claims against ExxonMobil by the D.C. Attorney General under the Retail Service Station Act (RSSA).
    • Represented a major homeopathic drug manufacturer and a retail drug manufacturer against several state and federal consumer class actions alleging false advertising and fraud in various jurisdictions.
    • Represented Microsoft Corp. in antitrust litigation in California state court and British Columbia, as well as before the U.S. Federal Trade Commission and other foreign competition authorities.
    • Represented Merck, Sharp & Dohme Corp. in several nationwide lawsuits concerning industry-wide pricing practices, allegations of fraud, and violations of the False Claims Act and Unfair Trade Practices Act.

    Sports 

    • Represented the National Basketball Players Association in litigation against its former Executive Director, Billy Hunter. Currently advising on legal and business matters.
    • Advised the Women's National Basketball Players Association on legal and business strategy.
    • Represented the Washington Football Team in an NFL arbitration and in litigation in federal court in Maryland and Virginia.

    • Representing senior executives and individuals in internal investigations and investigations by the Securities & Exchange Commission and the Department of Justice.

    Appeals

    • Represented Boiron USA, Inc. in an appeal affirming a complete defense verdict in a false advertising and consumer fraud class action.
    • Represented Carnegie Mellon University in appellate proceedings to uphold an unprecedented patent infringement jury verdict and award against Marvel Technology Group, Ltd.
    • Represented Harman International Industries in appellate proceedings regarding a dispute concerning vision-based automotive alert systems, which provide forward collision and lane departure warnings to drivers.
    • Represented Apple Inc. in appellate proceedings from the U.S. International Trade Commission in the “Smartphone Wars,” concerning the validity and infringement of patents related to portable communications devices, including touchscreen technology. 
    Pro Bono
    • Assisted clients obtain immigration relief under the Violence Against Women Act and the Trafficking Victims Protection Act.
    • Secured a default judgment in a contract dispute for a D.C.-based educational non-profit organization.
    • Co-authored cert-stage and merits amicus briefs to the U.S. Supreme Court addressing immigration and affirmative action matters.
    • Secured a favorable settlement for a tenant facing eviction proceedings in D.C. Superior Court.
