Julie Latsko is an associate in the firm’s intellectual property litigation group, focusing primarily on patent, trade secret, and non-competition agreement disputes. Ms. Latsko has represented clients in numerous industries, including pharmaceuticals, web-based technologies, and personal care products.
Ms. Latsko’s litigation experience includes the representation of Endo Pharmaceuticals Inc. in a five-week Hatch-Waxman trial in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. Following the trial, the Court ruled in Endo’s favor, finding its patents valid and infringed.
Ms. Latsko also maintains an active pro bono practice, assisting individuals with domestic violence and immigration matters, and defending the rights of victims whose civil rights have been violated.
Ms. Latsko was a Dechert summer associate in 2012.
Prior to joining Dechert, Ms. Latsko held a judicial externship with the United States District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee. While in law school, she also participated in Vanderbilt University’s Intellectual Property and the Arts Clinic, counseling individuals and businesses in a variety of copyright, trademark, and trade secret matters. Before law school, Ms. Latsko worked as a gubernatorial public financing analyst with the New Jersey Election Law Enforcement Commission.
- Endo Pharmaceuticals Inc. vs. Teva Pharmaceuticals USA, Inc., et al. (U.S. Dist. Ct. D. Del.). Trial counsel representing Endo in a Hatch-Waxman patent infringement case regarding Endo’s Opana® ER controlled- release oxymorphone product against seven generic pharmaceutical manufacturers. Case ongoing.
- Endo Pharmaceuticals v. Teva, et al. (U.S. Dist. Ct. S.D.N.Y.). Trial counsel for Endo Pharmaceuticals in Hatch-Waxman Act case filed against a dozen ANDA filers involving Endo's OPANA ER® product. Following a five-week trial, the court ruled in Endo's favor, finding its patents valid and infringed. Currently representing Endo on appeal.
