The Cambridge International Symposium on Economic Crime will take place at Jesus College, University of Cambridge for one week from Sunday 2nd - Sunday 9th September to focus on the topic 'Unexplained wealth - whose business?'.
Dechert Senior Director, Richard Tauwhare, will appear on the panel 'Winning the war against financial crime: best practicies and emerging risks' on Thursday 6th September. He will be speaking at 11:00AM with Mr Mario J. DiFiore, Mr Paul Laffan, Mr Goetz Fischer, Mr Antony Whitehouse, and Mr Pekka Dare, and they will be focusing on the question 'Do you really know your client?'.

Mr. Tauwhare has extensive experience in UK, EU and U.S. export controls and sanctions. As a former senior UK diplomat with over 30 years’ experience, Mr. Tauwhare has a deep understanding of promoting and regulating UK exports and inward investments; negotiating international controls on arms and dual-use goods; the design, negotiation and implementation of UN, EU, US and OSCE sanctions and embargoes; and of counter-proliferation, human rights and international humanitarian law issues. He has led Cabinet Office reviews of Government-wide work on counter-proliferation and export controls, resulting in a revised national strategy and leaner, better coordinated structures; as well as directed cross-Government work resulting in major new policy documents on nuclear deterrence and on Soft Power.
