Employee grievances can present all manner of challenges for employers who will want to seek to resolve the issues raised through an appropriate process whilst avoiding creating or exacerbating their potential liabilities in the way that they respond.
In this seminar, speakers from Dechert’s London employment team will address issues such as:
- What constitutes a grievance?
- The legal liabilities which can arise from grievances.
- Conducting investigations – who should investigate and what procedure should be followed?
- Managing multiple grievances – from the same employee/different employees.
- Handling a grievance raised as part of a disciplinary or different process.
- Modifying the process for an employee who is unwell.
- Managing the ongoing employment of the complainant and other employees affected or involved.
- Identifying whistleblowing complaints and how to address them.
