Dechert, Hwang & Co. Complete Hong Kong Law Society Association Requirement

Dechert LLP has announced that, after a three-year association with Hwang & Co., the two firms have completed the period of association required by The Hong Kong Law Society and will officially be known as Dechert effective January 1, 2011.

The Hong Kong office opened in January 2008 with partners Basil H. Hwang, Keith T. Robinson and Craig L. Godshall affiliated with it. David C. Chu and Angelyn Lim later joined the office as partners.

Dechert’s Hong Kong lawyers advise on fund formation and financial services regulation; mergers and acquisitions of corporations and financial institutions; private equity and venture capital investments in the People’s Republic of China; exits and financings via capital markets offerings; outward strategic and financial investments by Chinese entities; financing transactions; securities and commercial litigation; internal and government investigations; securities-related and shareholders’ disputes; and regulatory matters, particularly regarding compliance issues in both Asia and the United States.

The experience of the firm’s Hong Kong lawyers includes advising on securities offerings in the U.S. and Asia. We also represent clients in dispute resolution -- particularly securities-related, corporate governance and commercial litigation -- and advise on regulatory and enforcement proceedings in Hong Kong involving Hong Kong and U.S. securities law.
