Serbia Ratifies ICSID Convention

As part of an effort to improve its investment climate and attract foreign capital, Serbia recently signed and ratified the Convention on the Settlement of Investment Disputes between States and Nationals of Other States, more commonly known as the ICSID Convention. This Convention, to which more than 140 countries have acceded, including a number in Central and Eastern Europe, provides a mechanism for the arbitration of investment disputes between investors and governments before an arm of the World Bank known as ICSID.
