New Regulations Provide Clarification and Guidance for Implementation of NJ Paid Family Leave Law

With millions of New Jersey workers soon to become eligible for paid family leave benefits under the state’s new Paid Family Leave Law, the NJ Department of Labor recently adopted substantive regulations to clarify how the paid family leave benefits program will be implemented. This update examines the new regulations, which include procedures for filing paid family leave claims, requirements for leave notices, intermittent leave, and the use of vacation time in lieu of paid family leave benefits.
