UK Competition Authority Issues New Merger Jurisdictional and Procedural Guidance

The Office of Fair Trading, the agency responsible for initial review of mergers to determine whether they should be referred to the UK Competition Commission for full-scale review, recently published its new merger control guidance on jurisdictional and procedural issues. This update examines the new guidance, which covers mainly practical points that businesses and lawyers will find helpful in assessing whether, and how, a UK merger control filing should be made.
