Transparency, Competition and Shareholder Involvement: The Rights Issue Fees Inquiry Publishes Its Recommendations

December 22, 2010
A report published last week by the Rights Issue Fees Inquiry identifies high underwriting fees and a lack of transparency from banks as the key concerns of institutional investors when a company raises capital through an issue of securities. Established by the Institutional Investor Council, the Inquiry’s report analyses submissions from companies, investment managers, investment banks, financial advisers and lawyers and makes recommendations as to how the capital-raising process could be improved. This update examines the report and its recommendations.
