Cookies Update: Consent Now Needed; UK Moratorium on Enforcement Ends

UK-based websites must now obtain consent to use most cookies. Whilst the law changed last year, its adoption was accompanied by the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) announcing a 12-month moratorium on enforcement. This grace period has just ended, and the ICO can now be expected to enforce the rules. In this update, we discuss the current law as well as the revised guidance the ICO has just issued on how to comply with the new regime.
