Mutual Recognition: Simpler EU-US Customs Procedures for Trusted Traders

Implementation of the Mutual Recognition Decision for “trusted traders”, signed between the European Union and the United States in May 2012, is now under way. The decision will mean that the EU and US will recognise one another’s “trusted trader” certification schemes, leading to lower costs, simplified procedures and greater predictability for transatlantic trade activities.
