US Federal Reserve Issues Guidance on Pre-Filing Review for Bank Acquisitions and Other Proposals

The Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System has established a program, effective immediately, to enable persons considering the filing of an application for a potential bank acquisition or other proposal to obtain a review of their proposal by Federal Reserve Bank staff before making a formal filing. This program may be particularly helpful for community banking organizations and investors with novel proposals. This update discusses the pre-filing review process and potential benefits for investors and banking industry participants.
