UK's Information Commissioner’s Office Issues Guidance on Dealing with Requests from Individuals for Personal Information

Dealing with a subject access request (SAR), whether or not the person making the request is an employee, can be very time consuming. The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) issued a Code of Practice in August 2013 on “Dealing with requests from individuals for personal information” (the Code of Practice) which is intended to clarify what organisations must do to comply with their duties to give individuals access to their personal data.
