Congress Votes to Disapprove Rule Under Dodd-Frank Requiring Energy Companies to Disclose Payments to Foreign Governments

The House of Representatives and Senate have voted to disapprove a SEC rule mandated under Dodd-Frank that requires energy companies to annually report payments made to foreign governments for the commercial development of oil, natural gas or minerals. This resolution is among the first efforts by Congress and the Trump administration to focus on repealing late-term actions by the prior administration.
