The Impact of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act on Financial Services Companies Outside of the United States

This morning, President Obama signed the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, including Title IV (the Private Fund Investment Adviser Registration Act of 2010), which addresses registration, regulation, and reporting requirements imposed upon investment advisers to private funds. This update, which is part of a series of Dechert OnPoints on financial regulation reform, provides an overview of the new law from the perspective of private fund advisers.
