Potential Relief For CMBS Risk Retention

The "Preserving Access to CRE Capital Act of 2016," sponsored by Rep. French Hill, R-Ark., was reported favorably to the U.S. House of Representatives on March 2, 2016, by the House Committee on Financial Services by a bipartisan vote of 39-18. The act would modify certain aspects of Section 15G of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 as it relates to commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS) transactions.
