Kurtis M. Anderson Ph.D. is a patent agent in the Patent Counseling and Prosecution practice of Dechert’s Intellectual Property group. Dr. Anderson specializes in life sciences intellectual property and has considerable experience advising on pharmaceutical and biotechnology patent prosecution. He provides technical expertise across a diverse range of biochemistry and molecular biology fields, including: biophysics of macromolecular interactions; nucleic acid chemical synthesis and modification; rational optimization in biologics and aptamer therapeutic development; DNA hybridization thermodynamics; plant transgenics; tissue culture; and imaging techniques.

Dr. Anderson also has extensive knowledge in technical computing, structural determination techniques, biodefense and quality control methodologies. His research has been published in numerous journals, including Journal of the American Chemical Society, Journal of Biological NMR and PLoS ONE.

Prior to joining Dechert, Dr. Anderson completed his postdoc at the Institute of Molecular Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center Houston before serving as a scientific advisor at an intellectual property law firm in New York.
