Marie Bouchard focuses her practice on international arbitration and international law.

Prior to joining Dechert, Ms. Bouchard served as a legal consultant in the investment division of the Directorate for Financial and Enterprise Affairs at the OECD (Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development). She also previously worked at leading law firms in France, Mexico and Brazil. Ms. Bouchard is a lecturer at the Law School of the Paris Institute for Political Studies (Sciences Po).

  • A South American State in ICSID investment disputes with major foreign oil companies.
  • Minority shareholders in ad hoc arbitration proceedings in relation to a contractual dispute against the majority shareholder.
  • An Asian State entity in connection with ICC arbitrations arising from military procurement contracts and the payment of illicit commissions.
  • A European oil and gas production company against a North African petroleum company in an ICC arbitration in relation to the supply of liquefied natural gas.
  • A Central Asian State in an UNCITRAL arbitration brought by a Canadian mining company under the Energy Charter Treaty relating to uranium mining licenses.
  • A South American State in relation to two ICSID arbitrations brought by companies in the coffee and fertilizer industries.
