Sebastian Bruchwitz focuses his practice on investment funds, advising asset managers, sponsors, fund advisers, financial investors and financial institutions on the structuring, formation and distribution of German and international funds. He also represents regulated and unregulated German investor clients (including German insurances and pensions schemes) relating to their investment in private funds. In addition, Mr. Bruchwitz advises clients in matters relating to asset management M&A, primarily in the investment management and insurance sectors. 

Mr. Bruchwitz regularly acts for clients investing in all major alternative asset classes (including real estate equity/debt, private equity/debt, aircraft/rolling stock, infrastructure and renewable energy). He also provides advice on the eligibility of investments in respect of the German Investment Ordinance (Anlageverordnung). 

Prior to joining Dechert, Mr. Bruchwitz was a senior associate at another global law firm and general counsel of a German fund sponsor. Furthermore, he was seconded to the legal department of a German regulated asset management company (Kapitalverwaltungsgesellschaft). 

Mr. Bruchwitz is a frequent speaker at both internal and external conferences.
