Bertrand J. Choe focuses his practice on corporate and securities matters with an emphasis on leveraged finance. Mr. Choe has represented several major multinational and regional banks and financial institutions in connection with asset-based loans and other commercial loan transactions, debt restructurings and loan workouts. He has extensive experience counseling secured and unsecured creditors, indenture trustees and reorganized debtors in all aspects of chapter 11 cases, including presenting oral argument and drafting numerous motions, briefs and mediation statements.

Prior to joining Dechert, Mr. Choe served as an associate in the insolvency and restructuring department of another international law firm where he drafted forbearance agreements, amendments, intercreditor agreements and ancillary documents. He also worked in the financial services, banking and bankruptcy department of a digital media law practice group where he drafted plans of reorganization and disclosure statements as well as motion papers for all aspects of litigation. During law school, Mr. Choe interned in the United States Attorney’s Office (EDNY) civil division as well as interned under Honorable Dora L. Irizarry, U.S. District Court (EDNY) and Honorable Ramon E. Reyes, U.S. District Court (EDNY).
