James M. Curtis* focuses his practice on financial services and investment management, specifically closed-end funds and business development companies. With more than 25 years of experience working at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Mr. Curtis has extensive knowledge in regulating investment companies. During his time at the SEC, he worked on rule 18f-3, was involved in no-action letters, exemptive orders, and preparing Congressional testimony for Commissioners.

Prior to his position at the SEC, Mr. Curtis worked as an associate at Sidley Austin and Cravath, Swaine & Moore.
