Steven E. Clemens advises fund sponsors, investors and issuers on domestic and cross-border tax matters that arise from complex mergers and acquisitions. Noted by Law360 as a “highly effective problem solver,” Mr. Clemens counsels and represents both strategic and financial clients on the formation of investment funds. In addition, he has extensive industry experience in sectors including private equity, financial services, chemicals, energy, industrial, healthcare, life sciences and retail.

Mr. Clemens was named a Top Rated Tax Attorney by Super Lawyers for 2019 and was listed in the 2018 edition of Euromoney/Legal Media Group’s Tax Expert Guide series. In addition, he is regularly recognized by The Legal 500 US for Tax: US non-contentious tax, where he was recently described as an “excellent tax advisor who is willing to explore and discuss options to aid in resolving the matter at hand” and Chambers USA, which has recognized him for providing “incredibly practical and commercially sensitive tax advice” on domestic and cross-border M&A, bankruptcies, and fund formation in its America’s Leading Lawyers for Business list.
