Timothy M. Clark has more than two decades of experience in the investment funds industry representing clients in matters related to fund formation, mergers and acquisitions investments, and private funds investments. Mr. Clark has a proven track record with secondary transactions and provides advice to a broad range of investors and funds, including, venture capital, hedge, private equity, and sovereign wealth funds.

Drawing on his extensive experience, Mr. Clark excels at delivering insight on potential new deals and the impact of the most up-to-date market trends. He offers in depth knowledge on financial regulations, ensuring clients correctly comply to new and established regulatory actions. Mr. Clark specifically has thorough knowledge on the Investment Company Act, as well as the Investment Advisers Act and works with clients to construct their most effective, long-term course of action.

Mr. Clark regularly represents an array of clients within private equity and hedge funds such as infrastructure, buy-out, real estate, mezzanine funds, global macro funds, distressed funds, long/short equity funds, risk and convertible arbitrage funds, emerging market funds, pension funds, relative value funds, and endowment funds.

Mr. Clark has been recommended by Best Lawyers in America in their Private/Hedge Fund Law category and has been recognized by Legal 500 for his leading role in private equity and alternative/hedge funds. He has also been named on Who’s Who Legal 2017 in their Private Funds Formation category. In addition, Mr. Clark was recently named a "Notable Practitioner" by IFLR1000 for investment funds in the United States and New York. He also forms part of the asset management team honored in 2018 as a Law360 Practice Group of the Year. This is an oil and gas fund focused on investments in North America. The Fund is also cross-border and involves multiple partnerships and global investors.
  • A large pension plan in the sale of a US$1 billion portfolio of private equity interests.
  • Advised on the formation of a US$12 billion open-ended infrastructure fund.
  • A start-up private equity manager in the formation of a new private equity fund and related seed capital investment by a large state pension in the manager.
