Alejandro A. Herrera focuses his practice on complex litigation, with particular experience in pharmaceutical product liability and mass tort matters. Mr. Herrera has also litigated disputes concerning ERISA, antitrust, civil RICO, and the First Amendment.

Mr. Herrera dedicates a substantial amount of his practice to pro bono work. He has litigated on behalf of numerous immigration clients seeking asylum or Special Immigrant Juvenile Status in immigration court, family court and before United States Citizenship and Immigration Services. Mr. Herrera also represents numerous clients in federal criminal court on a pro bono basis. 

Prior to joining Dechert, Mr. Herrera was an associate in the litigation group of another global law firm.

  • A multinational defendant accused of environmental torts in Los Angeles Superior Court in obtaining a favorable tentative ruling in the client’s favor on issue of alter ego and corporate successor liability.
  • A multinational defendant in a class action suit asserting claims under ERISA for increased pension benefits.
  • A foreign pharmaceutical company sued in the U.S. in connection with foreign competition disputes.
  • A corporation and employee accused of defamation and breach of contract by a national public figure, which led to an early settlement.
