Mike Jarrett advises companies, directors and shareholders on a wide variety of corporate matters, in particular acquisitions and disposals, joint ventures, equity investments and restructurings. He works with clients across a number of sectors including insurance, media, energy and property.

Prior to joining Dechert, Mr. Jarrett worked at a large international law firm where he practiced in the mergers and acquisitions group. Before launching his career in law, Mr. Jarrett served as a warfare officer in the Royal Navy.

  • Chrysaor Limited on its US$3.8 billion acquisition, by way of an auction process, of a package of assets in the UK North Sea from Shell UK Limited and its affiliates.
  • M1 Fashion and L Capital Asia on the acquisition of the Pepe Jeans group (including the Hackett brand), a Spanish headquartered international group of companies operating in the fashion industry, from management and a group of private equity shareholders.
  • Crown Holdings, Inc. in connection with the sale of its European Industrial Specialty Packaging business to Huber Packaging Group GmbH (Germany), which included assets in France, Finland, Switzerland and the UK.
  • Berwind Corporation in its acquisition of the Public Safety Equipment Group.
  • Capital Z Partners in connection with its investment in preferred shares, convertible loan notes and share warrants in BMS Associates Limited, a UK incorporated holding company which, through its subsidiaries, offers insurance brokerage and reinsurance services.
  • Cosmote Mobile Communications S.A. on its sale by way of auction of the mobile communications business operated by Cosmo Bulgaria Mobile EAD (known as "Globul") and Germanos Telecom Bulgaria EAD to Telenor Mobile Communications AS for approximately €717 million.
  • Capmark (UK) Limited on the reorganisation of a number of their UK subsidiaries.
  • Blackboard (UK) Limited on the reorganisation of a number of their UK subsidiaries.
  • Sony Corporation of America in the US$2.2 billion agreement to acquire EMI Music Publishing from Citigroup, Inc.
  • Integra Group, a leading independent provider of diversified oilfield services, on a combination of its existing seismic joint venture with Schlumberger Oilfield Holdings Limited with the seismic business of Geotech Oil Services Holding Limited, one of the leading land seismic companies in Russia.
  • Insight Venture Partners in its equity financing of Photoways Holdco Ltd, a vehicle owned by digital photo business PhotoBox, in connection with the acquisition by PhotoBox of Moonpig for US$195 million.
