Jonathon Lunn focuses his practice on financial restructuring and insolvency matters, in particular formal insolvencies and cross-border restructuring transactions. Mr. Lunn has acted on a range of matters across sectors, having a particular focus on financial services.

Mr. Lunn also has experience working on corporate law matters with a particular emphasis on public and private mergers and acquisitions, equity capital raisings and corporate advisory.

Prior to joining Dechert, Mr. Lunn worked at an international law firm in Perth, Australia where he regularly worked with Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) listed companies and multinational corporations.

  • PwC as administrators of Lehman Brothers Limited in connection with £10 billion of potential liabilities as a result of a shareholding in an unlimited company, intercompany debts and pension debt.
  • An Italian fund of funds in relation to an investment in a Cayman domiciled hedge fund that was subsequently put into liquidation.
  • A Russian mining conglomerate with the restructuring of its US$1 billion PXF facility.
  • ASX-listed industry technology company Orbital Corporation in relation to the renegotiation of its convertible loan.
Corporate

 

  • Bristow Helicopters in its acquisition of a majority stake in AirNorth, the largest regional airline in the Northern Territory, for 50 million AUD.
  • A large multinational renewable energy company in relation to the acquisition of a controlling stake, via a private placement, in an Australia renewable energy company.
  • A U.S. private equity firm on its 10 million AUD acquisition of the assets of a private Australian automotive business.
  • An ASX listed company on the acquisition of a technology company. The acquisition resulted in the reverse takeover of the listed entity and involved a US$7 million capital raising.
  • An ASX listed company on the acquisition of a Swiss medical company. The acquisition resulted in the reverse takeover of the listed entity and involved a US$3 million capital raising.
  • The owner of two Australian fuel distribution companies in relation to the sale of a majority stake to a multinational energy company.
  • A large Hong Kong based company with obtaining Foreign Investment Review Board approval for the acquisition of shares in a large Australia resource company.
  • An ASX listed company in relation to the refinancing of its oil and gas operations in South Africa.
  • The Australian subsidiaries of a large multinational renewable energy company in relation to compliance with Australian corporate laws.
